Visitors to the exhibition at the Museum of Edinburgh

Visitors to the Museum of Edinburgh will be afforded a rare opportunity to see the incredible detail and accuracy of William Highet's original painting of Edinburgh's Royal Mile, one of the most famous streets in the world.

The detailed painting, which was produced over two and a half years and measures almost 30 feet in length, gives a view of the history and the variety of the architecture in this ancient thoroughfare.

William Highet combines his skill as an artist and an experienced architect to combine accuracy and immaculate detail to this work.
